Bentonite clay is an aluminum silicate, it contains metal, because it’s aluminum, and silica.
Google 'bentonite clay chemical composition’
You wouldn't take aluminum, because it's toxic. You wouldn't take silica, because it crystalizes in your blood, and is toxic... but the gurus claim these toxicants are 'caged' and voila, top-tier supplement psyop scam.
So the guru-shmurus will tell you the toxic aluminum you’re ingesting is ‘caged’ and ‘won’t interact with your biology’.
Surely logic says, if you ingest something, it interacts with you, since it’s inside you.
But somehow they claim it will magically detoxify your cells, help you lose weight and clear your skin, all without interacting with your biology.
Not sure about you here… they say it’s clay, but I smell fish here

That's looking at this before even considering the nano aspect…
Nano Aspect?
So how do we know it's nano? or contains nanoscale components? Well unlike zeolite, it isn't always.
BUT, it's adsorbent... how? why? It has a very large surface area. What is that associated with? The nanoscale. Also the large surface area is one of the reasons nanoscale materials are so toxic to biological systems.
And of course the goofy guru supplement companies would settle for no less than the best product, which means the health food stuff, is most likely nanoscale, for 'best results'. Superior adsorbent properties, and superior toxicity to you. Also, because the particles will be a lot smaller than the cells, long term accumulation in the cells is very likely (making toxicity exponentially more dangerous with time).
But again, the nano aspect here isn't even necessary to make anyone realise, this is another supplement psyop, to convince you to take a heavy metal (aluminum) and a potentially very toxic metalloid (silica) for 'detox'.
More resources (Zeolite videos, but still relevant to bentonite because they're both aluminum silicates):

And a final point:
Bentonite clay is used to seal dams and ponds so they don’t leak water into the ground. So when you eat that, what are you doing to your stomach and digestive systems?
